Question: Will breast implants impede the production of milk or the feeding of a baby?

Answer: Breast implants will not impede milk production which is dependent on hormones. In theory, the implants should not affect breast feeding since placement of the implant does not typically disrupt the breast unit (gland, ducts and nipple). Successful breast feeding is contingent on many factors including but not limited to hormone production, milk production and the baby's ability to take the milk.

It is with mixed emotions I am announcing I will be pursuing other endeavors effective June 29, 2018. I will no longer be able to care for you or renew your prescriptions after June 29, 2018. This has not been an easy decision for me, as caring for my patients has been very enjoyable and rewarding for these past nearly 25 years.

I am pleased to announce that as of May 7, 2018, Plastic Surgical Specialists (Drs. James Rough and J.D. Stuart) acquired my clinical practice. Dr. Rough is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine (2004) and the UCLA plastic surgery residency program (2014). Dr. Stuart is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine and the University of Virginia plastic surgery residency program and has been actively practicing plastic surgery, in Tucson, since 1989. I know Drs. Rough and Stuart are well qualified to handle any of your ongoing or future plastic surgery needs in a professional and compassionate manner. .

I suggest you contact Plastic Surgical Specialists (Drs. Rough and Stuart) as soon as possible to schedule an appointment as needed. Alternatively, you are free to seek care elsewhere, if you wish. If you don’t know where to begin, you can contact the Pima County Medical Society and they will direct you to the names of plastic surgeons in area accepting new patients.
