Why consider Sclerotherapy?
To minimize the unsightly appearance of spider veins on the legs, a concentrated
solution is injected into each affected vein. Two to three treatments at monthly
intervals are usually required for optimal results.
|
How it's done
The concentrated solution is injected into each spider vein. Following the treatment,
compression stockings are worn and the legs are kept elevated for 48 hours.
|
Expectations
The appearance of the spider veins will be significantly reduced if not eliminated.
|
Side Effects/Risks
Short term side effects include discomfort, bruising, pigmentation changes and persistent
or recurrent spider veins. A rarer side effect includes small skin ulcerations at
injection sites.
|
Healing Process
Following each treatment, you should wear compression stockings and keep your feet
elevated for 48 hours.
